IMAC is a Mathematics Research Institute addressed to mathematical challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach, especially including those that arise in connection with other sciences and technology (biomedicine, image processing, simulation of various physical phenomena). The IMAC is also open to provide support for solving mathematically-related issues that local companies or local public institutions may raise.

The primary objective of the Institute is the development of knowledge by promoting, establishing links and giving support to research in Mathematics. Another objective of IMAC is to contribute to the dissemination of mathematical developments in the local and university communities, trying to bring new generations closer to mathematics and everyday work of mathematicians. To achieve these objectives, IMAC promotes new research lines and the outreach of research in mathematics through its participation in research networks both at the national and international.
